Description

Miniature car Jordan J191 of Michael Schumacher in 1/24 scale from 1991.

The year 1991 was Schumacher's first big year in Formula 1. Michael Schumacher, 22 years old at the time, was not actually scheduled for this season in F1. Bertrand Gachot, driver in Eddie Jordan's team, could not start the first race in Spa-Francorchamps - Belgium. After an alleged irritant gas attack, Gachot was detained. After a lot of pressure from team manager Foster and designer Gary Anderson, Schumacher was finally accepted into the team.

Schumacher stayed in a kind of youth hostel during the race weekend. Despite erroneous statements, Schumacher had never driven on this track before. So, without further ado, he rode around the track on his bike to get to know it a little better.

In qualifying, Schumacher was able to set the eighth fastest time in the Jordan Ford J191 with the famous 7Up livery and was thus able to start the race from 7th place. After he managed to fight his way up to 5th place in the actual race, on 25 August 1991, his clutch failed and Schumacher was unable to continue.

This miniature car shows a faithful reproduction of the Ford J191 with the 7UP livery.
