The Grand Prix of San Marino took place on 26 April 1998 at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola and covered a distance of 62 laps over a total of 305.660 km.

Michael Schumacher in the Ferrari F300 started the race from 3rd position. In the 4th race of the season, Schumacher benefited from the retirement of his arch-rival Mika Häkkinen and crossed the finish line in 2nd place.
